An international research project being coordinated from UBC’s Okanagan campus on the recent history and future development of regions, viewed through the lens of occupations. View the invitation to participate
What we do
Based at the UBC's Okanagan Campus, The Recent History of Occupational Structure and Regional Economic Strategy in Non-Metropolitan Regions project brings together an interdisciplinary team of researchers, historians, economists, librarians, archivists, and community members.
We aim to explore, each in its own right:
▪ The history of occupational structure in particular non-metropolitan regions
▪ The possibility that this history might be a catalyst for citizens, in practice, to reflect on regional capabilities, consequently on strategies for future economic development
